Q (Qaaf)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Qaf. [These letters (Qaf, etc.) are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings]. By the Glorious Quran. 1 But they wonder that there has come to them a Warner from among themselves. So the Unbelievers say: "This is a wonderful thing! 2 "What! When we die and become dust, (shall we live again?) That is a (sort of) return far (from our understanding)." 3 Well do We know how the earth consumes their bodies, for with Us is a record unfailing. 4 Nay, but they cried lies to the truth when it came to them, and so they are in a case confused. 5 Do they not then look up to heaven above them how We have made it and adorned it and it has no gaps? 6 And the earth! We have spread it forth, and have cast therein firm mountains, and have caused to grow therein of every beauteous kind of plants: 7 An insight and a Reminder for every slave turning to Allah (i.e. the one who believes in Allah and performs deeds of His obedience, and always begs His pardon). 8 We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, 9 and tall palmtrees with compact spathes 10 As a provision for our bondmen; and therewith We have quickened a dead land. Even so will be the coming forth. 11 Before these, the people of Nooh had denied, and so did the dwellers of Rass and the Thamud. 12 and so did 'Ad, and Pharaoh and Lot's brethren, 13 The Companions of the Wood, and the People of Tubba'; each one (of them) rejected the messengers, and My warning was duly fulfilled (in them). 14 Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a new creation. 15
