Surely We have created man, and We know the promptings of his heart, and We are nearer to him than even his jugular vein. 16 Moreover, there are two scribes, one each sitting on the right and the left, recording everything. 17 There is not a word he utters but an observer is ready (to make note of it). 18 And the stupor of death will come in truth: this is that which thou hast been shunning. 19 The trumpet will certainly be sounded. This will be the day (about which you) were threatened. 20 And every soul shall come, and with it a driver and a witness. 21 (And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day. 22 And his companions shall say: This is what is ready with me. 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 "Who forbade what was good, transgressed all bounds, cast doubts and suspicions; 25 Who setteth up another god along with Allah. Do ye twain hurl him to the dreadful doom. 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants." 29
