NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 When the two Receivers receive (him), seated on the right hand and on the left, 17 The human being will certainly experience the agony of death 18 and (the human being will be told), "This is what you had been trying to run away from". 19 And the Trumpet was blown; “This is the Day of the promised punishment.” 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 [It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp." 22 His companion will say: "Here is (the record) I have ready with me." 23 (They will be told,) "Throw into hell every persistent disbelievers, 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 Who made [as equal] with Allah another deity; then throw him into the severe punishment." 26 ۞ Man's other self' will say: "O our Sustainer! It was not I that led his conscious mind into evil [nay,] but it had gone far astray [of its own accord]! 27 He (Allah) will say: 'Do not dispute before Me. I sent you a warning beforehand. 28 The sentence that cometh from Me cannot be changed, and I am in no wise a tyrant unto the slaves. 29
