And certainly We created man, and We know what his mind suggests to him, and We are nearer to him than his life-vein. 16 (Remember!) that the two receivers (recording angels) receive (each human being after he or she has attained the age of puberty), one sitting on the right and one on the left (to note his or her actions). 17 not even a word can he utter but there is a watcher with him, ever-present. 18 And the stupor of death will bring Truth (before his eyes): "This was the thing which thou wast trying to escape!" 19 And the Horn will be blown. That is the Day of [carrying out] the threat. 20 And every human being will come forward with [his erstwhile] inner urges and [his] conscious mind, 21 Certainly you were heedless of it, but now We have removed from you your veil, so your sight today is sharp. 22 His (angelic) companion will say, "(Lord), the record of his deeds is with me and is all ready". 23 'Cast, you twain, into Gehenna every froward unbeliever, 24 Preventer of good, aggressor, and doubter, 25 who has set up another god besides God: cast him into severe punishment" -- 26 ۞ His Companion will say: "Our Lord! I did not make him transgress, but he was (himself) far astray." 27 [Allah] will say, "Do not dispute before Me, while I had already presented to you the warning. 28 No word is to be exchanged in My presence. I am not unjust to My servants". 29
