NOW, VERILY, it is We who have created man, and We know what his innermost self whispers within him: for We are closer to him than his neck-vein. 16 Behold, two (guardian angels) appointed to learn (his doings) learn (and noted them), one sitting on the right and one on the left. 17 not a word he utters, but by him is an observer ready. 18 The palsy of death will surely come. This is what you wished to avert. 19 And the Trumpet shall be blown; that is the Day of the Threat. 20 Each soul shall come with a driver, and a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And his Companion will say: "Here is (his Record) ready with me!" 23 (It will be said): 'Indeed, cast into Gehenna (Hell) every deviating unbeliever, 24 hinderer of good, transgressor, causing others to doubt, 25 Who had set up another god with God. Cast him into severe torment." 26 ۞ And his comrade shall say, 'Our Lord, I made him not insolent, but he was in far error.' 27 He will say, “Do not dispute before Me – I had already warned you of the punishment.” 28 The word will not be changed with Me, and never will I be unjust to the servants." 29
