And indeed We have created man, and We know what his ownself whispers to him. And We are nearer to him than his jugular vein (by Our Knowledge). 16 Since the two scribes are sitting on each of his shoulders, he does not utter a word which is not recorded immediately by the watchful scribes. 17 He utters not a word, but there is a vigilant watcher at hand. 18 And when the agony of death comes in truth (they will say): 'This is what you have been trying to avoid' 19 And the Horn shall be blown; that is the Day of Threat! 20 Every soul will be accompanied (by an angel) behind him and another as a witness. 21 (It will be said to the sinners): "Indeed you were heedless of this, now We have removed your covering, and sharp is your sight this Day!" 22 And his comrade shall say, 'This is what I have, made ready.' 23 It will be said to the angels, “Both of you fling every excessive ungrateful, stubborn person into hell.” 24 "Hinderer of good, transgressor, doubter, 25 who set up with God another god; therefore, you twain, cast him into the terrible chastisement.' 26 ۞ His satanic companion will say, "Our Lord, I did not mislead him, but he himself went astray". 27 He will say: Do not quarrel in My presence, and indeed I gave you the threatening beforehand: 28 The Word will not be changed in My presence, nor am I an oppressor at all unto My bondmen. 29
