Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 by the clouds which are heavily loaded with water, 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those that distribute and apportion by Command;- 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 You are surely caught in contradictions., 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 (and be told): “Taste your ordeal! This is what you were seeking to hasten.” 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
