Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 and the smooth runners 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 Woe to the liars 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When will the Day of Judgement come?" 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 As also in your own selves: Will ye not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
