Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 indeed, that which you are promised is true, 5 And the judgment must most surely come about. 6 The heavens webbed-with-tracks is witness 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 Turned aside therefrom (i.e. from Muhammad SAW and the Quran) is he who is turned aside (by the Decree and Preordainment of Allah). 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are in a gulf (of ignorance) neglectful; 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 (And told:) "Taste your punishment. This is what you were trying to hasten." 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 receiving what their Lord will give them because before this they were gooddoers. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 And in the dawns they prayed for forgiveness. 18 And in their wealth and possessions (was remembered) the right of the (needy,) him who asked, and him who (for some reason) was prevented (from asking). 19 On the earth, and in yourselves, 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as true as your speech. 23
