Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By those [winds] scattering [dust] dispersing 1 and the burden-bearers 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 What you are threatened with is most surely true, 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 By the Sky with (its) numerous Paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 As to the Righteous, they will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 Little of the night they were wont to slumber. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 In whose wealth the suppliant and the deprived had a share. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 for, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech! 23
