Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And (the clouds) that bear heavy weight of water; 2 And those that flow with ease and gentleness; 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 surely what you are being warned against is true, 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you speak at variance, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish will those who just guess and speculate, 10 Who are lost in deception. 11 They ask: When is the day of judgment? 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and springs, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and the beggar and the outcast had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth there are signs for those who would be convinced. 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
