Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (blessings) by command, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and the recompense shall surely happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 "Taste you your trial (burning)! This is what you used to ask to be hastened!" 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And in your own souls (too); will you not then see? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 Then, by the Lord of heaven and earth, this is the very Truth, as much as the fact that ye can speak intelligently to each other. 23
