Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 And verily Judgment and Justice must indeed come to pass. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who flounder in the depths of ignorance. 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 [It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire, 13 And it will be said to them, “Taste your own roasting; this is what you were impatient for.” 14 The pious ones will live amidst gardens and springs, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They used to sleep but little by night [invoking their Lord (Allah) and praying, with fear and hope]. 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And in their properties there was the right of the beggar, and the Mahrum (the poor who does not ask the others). 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth it is sure, even as it is a fact that ye are speaking. 23
