Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
60 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Dunes (Al-Ahqaaf) before Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide, 1 Then those clouds bearing the load (of minute things in space). 2 And those [ships] sailing with ease 3 And those (angels) who distribute (provisions, rain, and other blessings) by (Allah's) Command; 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven containing pathways, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Death to those whose opinions are merely baseless conjectures. 10 who are heedless in the immersion. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 So, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, this is certainly true, as true as the fact of your speaking. 23

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
