Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the winds which scatter dust, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed, 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 he is turned away from [the truth] who is destined to be so turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 They ask, "When it will be the Day of Judgment?" 12 It will be the Day when they shall be scourged by the Fire 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Accepting the rewards given by their Lord; they were indeed virtuous before this. 16 They used to sleep but little of the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And from their properties was [given] the right of the [needy] petitioner and the deprived. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 And (also) in yourselves. Can ye then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 So by the Lord of heaven and earth, it is as surely true as that you have speech. 23
