Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness those who scatter (dust) by dispersing, 1 and the burden-bearers 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 Then those (angels who) distribute blessings by Our command; 4 Verily that which ye are promised is true; 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 Indeed, you are in differing speech. 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 they who blunder along, in ignorance lost 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 On that Day they shall be tried at the Fire, 13 "Taste your trial. This is what you sought to hasten." 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And in the morning they asked forgiveness. 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 And on the earth are signs for the certain [in faith] 20 There is also evidence of the Truth within your own selves. Will you then not see? 21 And in the heaven lies your sustenance, and the promise you are given. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
