Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 and those speeding along with ease, 3 and the partitioners, 4 Indeed, what you are promised is true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 surely you are deeply at variance [as to what to believe] -- 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask; "When will be the Day of Recompense?" 12 The day they will be burnt in the Fire, 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 receiving their reward from their Lord. They had been righteous people before the Day of Judgment. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And in the hour of early dawn, they (were found) praying for Forgiveness; 18 and in their wealth there was a rightful share for him who would ask and for the destitute. 19 And in the earth are signs for those who are certain. 20 just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see? 21 And in heaven is your provision and also what you are being promised. 22 Then, by the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is the truth (i.e. what has been promised to you), just as it is the truth that you can speak. 23
