Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the wind that scatters far and wide, 1 And those who bear the load (of rain), 2 And those that glide with ease (upon the sea) 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily, the Recompense is sure to happen. 6 By the heaven full of paths, 7 You are indeed in different opinions regarding this Qur’an. 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 Taste your persecution! this is what you would hasten on. 14 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in the midst of Gardens and Springs (in the Paradise), 15 Taking that which their Lord will vouchsafe unto hem. Verily they have been before that well-doers. 16 They slept little in the night, 17 And in the hours before dawn they would ask forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 In heaven is your sustenance, and also that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth! it is most surely the truth, just as you do speak. 23
