Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the winds which carry dust particles, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 Then those (ships) that glide easily, 3 And those who distribute (it) by command, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 and surely the Doom is about to fall! 6 By heaven with all its tracks 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 and perverted therefrom are some. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask: "When is the Day of Judgement?" -- 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because,] verily, they were doers of good in the past: 16 They used to sleep only a little during the night. 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 There are many Signs on earth for those of sure faith, 20 there are signs for firm believers. Do you not see then? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 And by the Lord of the heavens and the earth, it is the truth, even as (it is true) that ye speak. 23
