Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By (the winds) that scatter dust. 1 And those that lift and bear away heavy weights; 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 by the angels which distribute the affairs, 4 Verily that wherewith ye are threatened is surely true. 5 And undoubtedly justice will surely be done. 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 He is made to turn away from it who is (himself) averse. 9 Perish the conjecturers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask: when is the Day of Requital coming? 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and fresh springs of water, 15 Taking what their Lord gives them; surely they were before that, the doers of good. 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts; 18 And in their wealth the beggar and the outcast had due share. 19 And on the earth are signs for those who have Faith with certainty, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 There is in the heavens your sustenance, and whatever has been promised you. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
