Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and distributing the command of God at His behest! 4 that what you are promised is certainly true 5 And verily the Requital is surely to befall. 6 By the heaven with its passages, 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 From which only he turns who is turned away. 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 who are dazed in perplexity 11 They ask, "When will be the Day of Judgment and Justice?" 12 [It is] the Day they will be tormented over the Fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 Surely the godfearing shall be among gardens and fountains 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and in the mornings they would ask for forgiveness; 18 and sharing their possessions with the beggars and the deprived. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your sustenance and what you are threatened with. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
