Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 Then by oath of those which distribute by the command. 4 Undoubtedly, the promise you are given is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven full of paths. 7 Verily ye are in a divided opinion. 8 and are turned away from him who is turned. 9 Accursed be the conjecturers 10 Those who are in heedlessness neglectful. 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (and tested) over the Fire! 13 'Taste your trial. This is what you have sought to hasten' 14 Verily the God-fearing will be amid Gardens and water-springs. 15 They shall receive what their Lord will bestow on them. They have done good works in the past, 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 And in the hours before dawn, they were (found) asking (Allah) for forgiveness, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And also in your own selves. Behold ye not? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 This, by the Lord of the heavens and the earth is as certain as your ability to speak. 23
