Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 And those [clouds] carrying a load [of water] 2 by the ships which smoothly sail on the oceans, 3 and execute the great task of apportioning (rainfall): 4 Verily the promise made to you is true: 5 and the Judgement shall doubtlessly take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 surely, you are in different sayings, 8 Turned aside therefrom is who is turned aside. 9 Cursed be the liars, 10 and who wander in the abyss of confusion. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day when they are tormented at the Fire. 13 "Taste ye your trial! This is what ye used to ask to be hastened!" 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They were in the habit of sleeping but little by night, 17 And ere the dawning of each day would seek forgiveness, 18 And in their property was a portion due to him who begs and to him who is denied (good). 19 And in the earth there are signs for those who are sure, 20 And in yourselves. Then will you not see? 21 And in the heaven is your provision and that which ye are promised. 22 Then by the Lord of the heaven and earth, indeed, it is truth - just as [sure as] it is that you are speaking. 23
