Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By oath of those which carry away while dispersing. 1 Then by oath of those which carry the burdens. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 And indeed, the recompense is to occur. 6 I swear by the heaven full of ways. 7 Truly ye are in a doctrine discordant, 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 May the conjecturers perish, 10 Who are under a cover of heedlessness (think not about the gravity of the Hereafter), 11 they who [mockingly] ask, "When is that Day of Judgment to be?" 12 (It is) the day on which they shall be tried at the fire. 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and fountains. 15 Taking joy in the things which their Lord has given them. Verily, they were before this Muhsinun (good-doers - see V. 2:112). 16 They used to sleep but little in the night. 17 And used to seek forgiveness before dawn. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 There are signs in the earth for those who are firm in their faith, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in the heaven is your providence and that which ye are promised; 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
