Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: "Thus said your Lord. He is indeed all-wise and all-knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "Messengers, what is your task?" 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 To send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 “That are kept marked, with your Lord, for the transgressors.” 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But (Pharaoh) turned back with his Chiefs, and said, "A sorcerer, or one possessed!" 39 We seized him and his army and threw them into the sea. He himself was to be blamed. 40 And in the tribe of A’ad, when we sent a dry windstorm upon them. 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 they could neither stand up straight, nor were they helped. 45 So were the People of Noah before them for they wickedly transgressed. 46
