Have you heard the story of the honorable guests of Abraham? 24 When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, "[And upon you be] peace!" - [saying to himself,] "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned to his household, so brought out a roasted calf [as the property of Ibrahim (Abraham) was mainly cows]. 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 [And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, "Fear not" - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "Thus has said your Lord; indeed, He is the Wise, the Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 so that we may bring down upon them a shower of stones of clay, 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 But he turned away with his forces and said: A magician or a mad man. 39 So We seized him and his hosts and hurled them into the sea and he was blamable. 40 And in (the tribe of) A'ad (there is a portent) when we sent the fatal wind against them. 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 But in their pride they turn away from the commandment of their Lord and the thunderbolt struck them whilst they were looking; 44 So they were not able to stand, nor could they help themselves. 45 And the people of Nuh We destroyed aforetime; verily they were a people transgressing. 46
