Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 And placed it near them; he said, "Will you not eat?" 27 (When they did not eat), He conceived a fear of them. They said, "Fear not," and they gave him glad tidings of a son endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward with a loud voice, she smote her face, and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "Then for what purpose you have come, O Messengers?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 that we may unleash a shower of clay-stones 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 Thus We brought forth from therein who were believers. 35 – and We did not find there any, apart from a single house of Muslims – 36 And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 But [Fir'aun (Pharaoh)] turned away (from Belief in might) along with his hosts, and said: "A sorcerer, or a madman." 39 Then We laid hold of him and his hosts and flung them into the sea, and he was reproachable. 40 And in the 'Ad (people) (was another Sign): Behold, We sent against them the devastating Wind: 41 It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but reduced it to ruin and rottenness. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 But they disobeyed the command of their Lord; so they were destroyed by a thunderbolt, and they could only gape, 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 (So were) the people of Nuh (Noah) before them. Verily, they were a people who were Fasiqun (rebellious, disobedient to Allah). 46
