Hizb 53
< random >
Hath the story of Abraham's honoured guests reached thee (O Muhammad)? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 He placed it before them. Then he said, "Why are you not eating?" 27 So he conceived in his mind a fear on account of them. They said: Fear not. And they gave him the good news of a boy possessing knowledge. 28 But his wife came forward (laughing) aloud: she smote her forehead and said: "A barren old woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Abraham asked, "What is your errand, O messengers?" 31 They said, “We have been sent towards a guilty nation.” 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 "Marked as from thy Lord for those who trespass beyond bounds." 34 And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot 's city] such [few] believers as were there: 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 Then he turned away with his court, and said: a magician or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his armies, and threw them into the sea, for he was worthy of blame. 40 And in Ad: When We sent upon them the destructive wind. 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time." 43 But they insolently defied the Command of their Lord: So the stunning noise (of an earthquake) seized them, even while they were looking on. 44 They were unable to stand up, nor were they helped. 45 And the people of Noah before; surely they were an ungodly people. 46
