Have you heard the story of Abraham's honored guests? 24 When they came in unto him and said: peace! he said: peace! people unknown. 25 So he hurried to the house and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 And his wife approached with a cry [of alarm] and struck her face and said, "[I am] a barren old woman!" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: "And what, O ye Messengers, is your errand (now)?" 31 They replied, "We have been sent to a sinful people, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 which are marked by your Lord for the punishment of those guilty of excesses." 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 but We found not therein except one house of those that have surrendered themselves. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 The Pharaoh and his forces turned away from him, saying, "He is either a magician or an insane person". 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
