Did the news of Ibrahim’s honourable guests reach you (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him)? 24 When they came to him saying, "Peace be with you," he replied to their greeting in the same manner and said to himself, "These are a strange people". 25 He went quietly to his wife and returned to his guests with a fat, roasted calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them. They said: Fear not! and gave him tidings of (the birth of) a wise son. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 They said, “This is how your Lord has decreed; indeed He only is the Wise, the All Knowing.” 30 ۞ He said: "What is then your business, O messengers?" 31 They said, "We have been sent to a people (deep) in sin;- 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 So We evacuated everyone who was a believer there, 35 but We found only one Muslim house. 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Musa also was a lesson, when We sent him unto Fir'awn with authority manifest. 38 but he turned his back, with his court, saying, 'A sorcerer, or a man possessed!' 39 So We took him and his forces, and threw them into the sea; and his was the blame. 40 There is also evidence of the Truth in the story of Ad whom We struck with a violent wind 41 It spared naught that it reached, but made it (all) as dust. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 But they rebelled against their Lord's decree, and so the thunderbolt overtook them even while they gazed; 44 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 45 [We destroyed] the people of Noah before them. They were certainly a sinful people. 46
