Hath there come unto thee the story of Ibrahim's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him, they said: “Peace”; he said: “Peace also be to you; (you seem to be) a group of strangers.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 and laid it before them, saying: “Will you not eat?” 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said: Thus says your Lord: Surely He is the Wise, the Knowing. 30 ۞ 'Messengers' said he (Abraham), 'what is your errand' 31 They said: "We have been sent to a wicked people 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 But did not find more than a single family of believers. 36 We left therein evidence for those who fear the painful torment. 37 And in Moosa, when We sent him with a clear proof towards Firaun. 38 But he withdrew (confiding) in his might, and said: A wizard or a madman. 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and cast them into the sea. He became an object of much blame. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 that left nothing it came upon, but made it as stuff decayed. 42 And in Thamud, when We said to them: "Enjoy yourselves for a while;" 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 Before all these We destroyed the people of Noah: they were a wicked people. 46
