Hizb 53
< random >
Has the story reached thee, of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 They entered to him and said: 'Peace' And he replied: 'Peace, you are people unknown to me' 25 Then he went to his family and came with a fat [roasted] calf 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear of them (when they ate not). They said: "Fear not." And they gave him glad tidings of an intelligent son, having knowledge (about Allah and His religion of True Monotheism). 28 Then came forward his wife, clamouring, and she smote her face, and said, 'An old woman, barren!' 29 They said: “So has your Lord said (that you shall have a boy). Surely He is Most Wise, All-Knowing.” 30 ۞ Said Ibrahim, “What is your task, O the sent angels?” 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 That we may send down upon them stone of clay, 33 marked out in thy Sustainer's sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves." 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 and We left therein a sign for those who fear a painful punishment. 37 As (there was) in Moses when We sent him to the Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 but he turned his back with his Assembly, saying: 'He is (either) a sorcerer or a mad man' 39 We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]. 40 There is also a Sign for you in (the story of) Ad, when We let loose upon them an ominous wind 41 and it destroyed everything over which it passed and reduced it to dust. 42 In the Thamud [there was another sign], when they were told, "Make the most of your lives for a while." 43 Then they turned in disdain from the commandment of their Lord, and the thunderbolt took them and they themselves beholding 44 Then they could not even stand (on their feet), nor could they help themselves. 45 And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah's people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk. 46
