Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they entered upon him, they said: Peace. Peace, said he, a strange people. 25 Then he turned quickly to his household, and brought a fatted calf, 26 So he brought it near them. He said: What! will you not eat? 27 Then he became afraid of them. They said: “Fear not,” and announced to him the good news of (the birth of) a boy endowed with knowledge. 28 Then his wife came forward, crying and beating her brow. She said, "I am surely a barren, old woman." 29 'Such, says your Lord' they replied: 'He is the Wise, the Knower' 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said: "We have been sent to a people who are Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, disbelievers in Allah); 32 to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement, 33 They are transgressors in the presence of your Lord". 34 We saved the believers among them, 35 But We found not there any just (Muslim) persons except in one house: 36 and We left therein a Sign for those who fear the grievous chastisement. 37 There is another sign in Moses: We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority. 38 In response, he turned away along with his army and said, “He is a magician or a madman.” 39 So We seized him and his hosts and flung them in the sea, for he was reprobate. 40 In 'Ad (also is a sign), when We sent a blasting wind against them, 41 that left nothing that it came upon without reducing it to rubble. 42 There is also evidence (of the Truth) in the story of the Thamud, who were told to enjoy themselves for an appointed time. 43 But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 46
