And heaven – We made it with Our Own Power and We have the Power to do so. 47 We have spread out the earth and how brilliantly it is spread! 48 We have created everything in pairs so that perhaps you may take heed. 49 Hasten ye then (at once) to Allah: I am from Him a Warner to you, clear and open! 50 Do not set up another god, along with God. I come from Him to warn you plainly. 51 Likewise, there came not an apostle unto those before them but they said: a magician or a madman! 52 Have they, perchance, handed down this [way of thinking] as a legacy unto one another? Nay, they are people filled with overweening arrogance! 53 Then turn your back upon them for you are not to blame; 54 And admonish, for verily admonition profiteth the believers. 55 And [tell them that] I have not created the invisible beings and men to any end other than that they may [know and] worship Me. 56 I do not ask any sustenance from them, nor wish that they give Me food. 57 Lo! Allah! He it is that giveth livelihood, the Lord of unbreakable might. 58 The wrong-doers shall receive a portion of the chastisements as their fellows (of yore). So let them not rush Me. 59 Woe, then, betide those who disbelieved in that Day of theirs which they are being asked to hold in dread. 60
