The angels said: "O Mary, indeed God has favoured you and made you immaculate, and chosen you from all the women of the world. 42 "O Mary! worship Thy Lord devoutly: Prostrate thyself, and bow down (in prayer) with those who bow down." 43 This is an account of the unseen, which We reveal to you. You were not with them when they drew lots as to which of them should be Mary's guardian and you were not with them when they disputed with one another. 44 Lo! The angels said: "O Mary! Behold, God sends thee the glad tiding, through a word from Him, [of a son] who shall become known as the Christ Jesus, son of Mary, of great honour in this world and in the life to come, and [shall be] of those who are drawn near unto God. 45 And he shall speak to men in the cradle and also later when he grows to maturity and shall indeed be among the righteous.' 46 "Lord," she said, "how can I have a child when no man has touched me?" [The angel] replied, "Thus it is: God creates what He wills: when He wills a thing He need only say, "Be," and it is. 47 "And Allah will teach him the Book and Wisdom, the Law and the Gospel, 48 to be a Messenger to the Children of Israel saying, "I have come to you with a sign from your Lord. I will create for you out of clay as the likeness of a bird; then I will breathe into it, and it will be a bird, by the leave of God. I will also heal the blind and the leper, and bring to life the dead, by the leave of God. I will inform you too of what things you eat, and what you treasure up in your houses. Surely in that is a sign for you, if you are believers. 49 And a verifier of that which is before me of the Taurat and that I may allow you part of that which has been forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a sign from your Lord therefore be careful of (your duty to) Allah and obey me. 50 Lo! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him. That is a straight path. 51 ۞ When Jesus found them denying the truth, he said, "Who will help me in the cause of God?" The disciples replied, "We are the helpers of God. We believe in Him. Jesus, bear witness that we have submitted ourselves to His will." 52 "O Lord, we believe in Your revelations and follow this Apostle. Enroll us among the witnesses." 53 And the disbelievers planned, but Allah planned. And Allah is the best of planners. 54
