The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount, 1 And the Scripture inscribed 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 by the much-visited House, 4 and the uplifted roof 5 and the sea that is full 6 Lo! the doom of thy Lord will surely come to pass; 7 There is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 Will be the day of woe for those 11 and amuse themselves with vain argumentation. 12 On that day they will be violently pushed into the fire 13 "This:, it will be said, "Is the Fire,- which ye were wont to deny! 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 Eat and drink with relish for that which ye have been working. 19 They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye. 20 And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith - We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained. 21 And We shall bestow on them fruit and meat in abundance - whatever they may desire: 22 They will pass cups of un-intoxicating and unsinful wine to one another. 23 ۞ and youths, of their own, shall pass among them as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 They will say: verily we were aforetime, midst our household, ever in dread. 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
