The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the mount. 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 by the House inhabited 4 And the roof exalted, 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Indeed your Lord’s punishment will surely take place. 7 There is none can avert it;- 8 On the Day whereon the heaven will shake with an awful shaking. 9 and the mountains move, moving. 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 all those who [throughout their lives] but idly played with things vain 12 The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say], 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 "Is this then a fake, or is it ye that do not see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 They would recline on couches set in rows, paired with fair companions (clean of thought and) bright of eye. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 They shall there exchange, one with another, a (loving) cup free of frivolity, free of all taint of ill. 23 ۞ and there go round them youths, their own, as if they were hidden pearls. 24 They advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 25 Saying: Lo! of old, when we were with our families, we were ever anxious; 26 But God has been gracious to us, and has saved us from the torment of scorching wind. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
