In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the mount 1 by the book (Torah) written 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the House inhabited 4 By the Canopy Raised High; 5 And the swollen sea 6 verily your Lord's chastisement shall come to pass, 7 and no one will be able to prevent it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains will move with [an awesome] movement. 10 Then woe that Day to the beliers; 11 such as play at plunging, 12 The day they are dragged and pushed into Hell, 13 This is the Fire which ye were wont to believe. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 Roast in it! And bear you patiently, or bear not patiently, equal it is to you; you are only being recompensed for that you were working.' 16 Verily, the Muttaqun (pious - see V. 2:2) will be in Gardens (Paradise), and Delight. 17 Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire. 18 [And they will be told:] "Eat and drink with good cheer as an outcome of what you were wont to do, 19 (They shall be) reclining on couches ranged in rows and We shall wed them to houris (virgins of Paradise) with large wide eyes. 20 We shall unite the believers with those descendants of theirs who followed them in their faith, and shall not deny them any part of the reward for their good deeds. Every person is pledged to what he did. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 There, they shall pass from hand to hand a cup which does not lead to any idle talk or sin. 23 ۞ And there go round, waiting on them menservants of their own, as they were hidden pearls. 24 They will converse with one another, putting questions to each other, 25 They will say: “When we were living before among our kinsfolk we lived in constant fear (of Allah's displeasure). 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
