The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 and a Book inscribed 2 On fine parchment unrolled, 3 And [by] the frequented House 4 And the lofty roof. 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 Of it there is no averter. 8 On the Day when the firmament will be in dreadful commotion. 9 and the mountains are in motion, 10 So on that day, ruin is for those who deny. 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 "This is the Fire which you used to deny. 14 What, is this magic, or is it you that do not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Verily the God-fearing will be in Gardens and Delight. 17 talking of what they have received from their Lord and of how their Lord has saved them from the torment of hell. 18 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do." 19 reclining on couches [of happiness] ranged in rows!" And [in that paradise] We shall mate them with companions pure, most beautiful of eye. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They shall pass on to one another a cup that will incite neither levity nor sin. 23 ۞ They will be served by youths who will be as beautiful as pearls. 24 And some of them draw near unto others, questioning, 25 Saying: "Aforetime, we were afraid with our families (from the punishment of Allah). 26 But Allah has been gracious to us and He has saved us from the punishment of the hot wind: 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
