The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the Mount Sinai, 1 And [by] a Book inscribed 2 In a Scroll unfolded; 3 And the House (Kaaba) that is visited, 4 and by the lofty vault of the sky, 5 And the swollen sea, 6 Verily the torment of thine Lord is sure to befalls 7 none can avert that. 8 (It shall come to pass) on the Day when the heaven will convulse in a great convulsion, 9 And the mountains will move away with a (horrible) movement. 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 and who indulged in false disputes against (God's revelations). 12 the day when they shall be pitched into the fire of Gehenna: 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Is this magic, or do ye not see? 15 "Burn ye therein: the same is it to you whether ye bear it with patience, or not: Ye but receive the recompense of your (own) deeds." 16 Surely those who guard (against evil) shall be in gardens and bliss 17 Delighted at the bestowal of their Lord; and their Lord has saved them from the fire. 18 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of that which you did' 19 Reclining upon couches ranged in rows; and We shall espouse them to wide-eyed houris. 20 And (as for) those who believe and their offspring follow them in faith, We will unite with them their offspring and We will not diminish to them aught of their work; every man is responsible for what he shall have wrought. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 while they pass therein a cup one to another wherein is no idle talk, no cause of sin, 23 ۞ And they will be waited upon by [immortal] youths, [as if they were children] of their own, [as pure] as if they were pearls hidden in their shells. 24 They will go to one another asking each other questions: 25 They say, 'We were before among our people, ever going in fear, 26 but Allah has been gracious to us and has protected us from the punishment of the burning wind. 27 "Verily, We used to invoke Him (Alone and none else) before. Verily, He is Al-Barr (the Most Subtle, Kind, Courteous, and Generous), the Most Merciful." 28
