The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By the Mount (of Revelation); 1 And a Scripture inscribed 2 in a parchment unrolled, 3 By the House Frequented. 4 And the lofty roof. 5 And the sea set aflame. 6 Most surely the punishment of your Lord will come to pass; 7 No one can avert it. 8 On the day when the heaven shall move from side to side 9 And the mountains will pass on, departing - 10 On that Day woe to those who belied 11 those who are in plunging, playing. 12 The Day when they will be pushed down by force to the Fire of Hell, with a horrible, forceful pushing. 13 (And it is said unto them): This is the Fire which ye were wont to deny. 14 Is this magic or do you not see? 15 Roast in it, bear it with or without patience, it is the same, you are only being recompensed for that which you used to do' 16 Indeed the pious are in Gardens and peace. 17 rejoicing in all that their Sustainer will have granted them: for their Sustainer will have warded off from them all suffering through the blazing fire. 18 (And it is said unto them): Eat and drink in health (as a reward) for what ye used to do, 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 And they who believe and whose seed follow them in faith, We cause their seed to join them (there), and We deprive them of nought of their (life's) work. Every man is a pledge for that which he hath earned. 21 We shall give them fruits and meat as they desire. 22 There they shall pass from hand to hand a (wine) cup, free from any Laghw (dirty, false, evil vague talk between them), and free from sin (because it will be legal for them to drink). 23 ۞ And round them shall go boys of theirs as if they were hidden pearls. 24 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 “So Allah did us a great favour, and saved us from the punishment of the flame.” 27 Verily we were wont to pray unto Him aforetime; verily He! it is He, the Benign, the Merciful. 28
