Wherefore admonish thou! thou art not, by the grace of thy Lord, a soothsayer or a madman. 29 Or do they say: “He is a poet for whom we await an adverse turn of fortune.” 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say: "He has fabricated it?" In fact, they will never believe. 33 Let them produce a discourse like it if they are true in their claim. 34 Or were they created out of naught? Or are they the creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord? Have they any authority over God? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Hath He daughters and ye sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or have they a god other than Allah? Exalted is Allah far above the things they associate with Him! 43 And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up." 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped. 46 And verily for those who do wrong there is a torment before that; but most of them know not. 47 Await the judgement of your Lord, for you are always before Our eyes, and glorify your Lord with praises when you rise, 48 and proclaim the praise of thy Lord in the night, and at the declining of the stars. 49
