▼ 52 The Mountain

EXHORT, then, [O Prophet, all men:] for, by thy Sustainer's grace, thou art neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or they allege, “He is a poet – we await a calamity of the times to befall him.” 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Or do their intellects bid them do this? Or are they an insolent people? 32 Or do they say, 'He has invented it?' Nay, but they do not believe. 33 Let them then produce a recital like unto it,- If (it be) they speak the truth! 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Have they created the heavens and the earth? In fact, they have no strong faith. 36 Do they own the treasures of your Lord, or have they been given charge of them? 37 Or have they a ladder, by which they can (climb up to heaven and) listen (to its secrets)? Then let (such a) listener of theirs produce a manifest proof. 38 Or has He daughters, and they sons? 39 Or is it that you (O Muhammad SAW) ask a wage from them (for your preaching of Islamic Monotheism) so that they are burdened with a load of debt? 40 Or do they have knowledge of the Unknown which they write down? 41 Do they design evil plans? The disbelievers themselves will be snared by their evil plots. 42 Do they have another god besides God? God is too exalted to be considered equal to the idols. 43 And if they were to see a piece of the heaven falling down, they would say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Then let them be (O Muhammad), till they meet their day, in which they will be thunder-stricken, 45 Their deception will not avail them in the least on that day, nor will they be helped. 46 Truly, for those who do wrong there is a punishment besides that, though most of them do not know it. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 And for part of the night also praise thou Him,- and at the retreat of the stars! 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
