▼ 52 The Mountain
Al-Toor 2 of 2
(Muhammad), remind them, by the Grace of your Lord, that you are neither a soothsayer or an insane person. 29 Or say they: (he is) a poet, (one) for whom we may expect the accident of time? 30 Say thou: "Wait, [then,] hopefully; behold, I, too, shall hopefully wait with you!" 31 Or, do their intellects order them to do this? Or, are they an insolent people? 32 Do they say: 'He has invented it' No, they do not believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Or have they a stairway (to heaven), by means of which they listen (to the talks of the angels)? Then let their listener produce some manifest proof. 38 Or, [if you believe in God, how can you believe that] He has [chosen to have] daughters, whereas you yourselves would have [only] sons? 39 Or do you demand any wages from them so that they are burdened with expense? 40 Is with them the Unseen, and they write it down! 41 Or do they intend a plot (against thee)? But those who defy Allah are themselves involved in a Plot! 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 AND YET, if they [who refuse to see the truth] were to see part of the sky falling down, they would [only] say: "[It is but] a mass of clouds!" 44 Wherefore let them alone, till they meet their Day whereon they shall swoon. 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 And in the night also hallow Him, and at the setting of the stars. 49

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
