Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Or do they say: 'He is a poet, we are waiting for some misfortune to befall him' 30 Say thou: "Await ye!- I too will wait along with you!" 31 Do their minds command them this [i.e. to tell a lie against you (Muhammad SAW)] or are they people exceeding the bounds (i.e. from Belief in Allah to disbelief). 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Were they created of nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, but they are sure of nothing! 36 Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or are they the treasurers? 37 Have they a ladder up to heaven by means of which they can overhear? Then let their listeners bring a clear proof. 38 Or does Allah have daughters whereas you have sons? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Do they have knowledge of the unseen, thus, are able to predict (the future)? 41 Or do they want to stage a deception? -- Then only those who do not believe will be the ones who will be tricked. 42 Or, do they have a god, other than Allah? Exaltations to Allah above that which they associate! 43 If they should see a segment falling from the sky, they would say: "It is only a massive cloud." 44 So leave them alone until they face the day when they will be struck dead from terror 45 and when their evil plans will be of no benefit to them nor will they be helped. 46 Surely a chastisement awaits the wrong-doers even before the coming of that Day; but most of them do not know. 47 And wait thou patiently the judgment of thy Lord; verily thou art before Our eyes; and hallow the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest. 48 and also celebrate His praise at night, and at the retreat of the stars. 49
