Therefore (O dear Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), enlighten, for by the munificence of your Lord, you are neither a soothsayer nor a madman. 29 Do they say, "He is only a poet and we are waiting to see him die!?" 30 Say, "Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters." 31 Is this what their senses tell them, or are they a rebellious people? 32 Or do they say, "He has invented it himself"? Indeed, they are not willing to believe. 33 Let them bring a discourse like thereunto, if they say sooth. 34 Have they been created from nothing or are they themselves their own creators? 35 Or, did they create the heavens and the earth? No, their belief is not certain! 36 Are with them the treasures of thy Lord! or are they the dispensers? 37 Do they have a ladder (by which they can climb up to the heavens) and listen (to the angels) and come back to the rest of the people with clear authority? 38 Or has He daughters while you have sons? 39 Or askest thou (Muhammad) a fee from them so that they are plunged in debt? 40 Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 Even if they were to see a part of the heavens falling down upon them, they would say, "It is only dense cloud". 44 So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs when they shall be struck down, 45 The day on which their struggle shall not avail them aught, nor shall they be helped. 46 Surely there are other torments besides this for those who are wicked, though most of them do not know. 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 and exalt Him in the night and at the declining of the stars. 49
