Therefor warn (men, O Muhammad). By the grace of Allah thou art neither soothsayer nor madman. 29 Or do they say [of you], "A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?" 30 Say: 'Wait if you will; I shall be waiting with you' 31 Nay! do their understandings bid them this? Or are they an inordinate people? 32 Or do they say, "He fabricated the (Message)"? Nay, they have no faith! 33 Then let them bring a discourse like it, if they speak truly. 34 Were they created by nothing, or were they themselves the creators? 35 Did they create the heavens and the earth? No! They have no faith. 36 Or have they the treasures of your Lord with them? Or have they been set in absolute authority? 37 Have they a stairway whereby they overhear? Then let their listener bring an authority manifest. 38 What! The daughters for Him, and the sons for you? 39 Or is it that [they who reject thy message, O Muhammad, fear lest] thou ask of them a reward, so that they would be burdened with debt [if they should listen to thee]? 40 Or is the Unseen in their keeping, and so they are writing it down? 41 Or do they want to entrap [thee in contradictions]? But they who are bent on denying the truth - it is they who are truly entrapped! 42 Or do they have a God besides Allah? Purity is to Allah from their ascribing of partners to Him. 43 Were they to see a piece of the sky falling (on them), they would (only) say: "Clouds gathered in heaps!" 44 Hence, leave them alone until they face that [Judgment] Day of theirs, when they will be stricken with terror: 45 the Day when none of their scheming will be of the least avail to them, and they will receive no succour. 46 And indeed for the unjust is another punishment before this, but most of them do not know. (Punishment in the grave is proven by this verse.) 47 So wait patiently (O Muhammad) for thy Lord's decree, for surely thou art in Our sight; and hymn the praise of thy Lord when thou uprisest, 48 And in the night-time also hymn His praise, and at the setting of the stars. 49
