The Stars (Al-Najm)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. 1 Your comrade erreth not, nor is deceived; 2 He does not speak out of his own desires. 3 It is but a divine revelation, which is revealed to him. 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 by the great mighty one (Gabriel), 6 standing poised at the highest point on the horizon, 7 Then he drew nigh and came down 8 Until a space of two bow (arcs) or even less remained, 9 then revealed to his servant that he revealed. 10 The heart was not untrue in (making him see) what he saw. 11 Will you then dispute with him (Muhammad SAW) about what he saw [during the Mi'raj: (Ascent of the Prophet SAW over the seven heavens)]. 12 Indeed, he saw him another time 13 at the Lote Tree (Sidrat tree) of the ending 14 near which is Paradise. 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 his eyes did not swerve, nor did they stray 17 for indeed he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 And subsequently the third, the Manat? 20 Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? 21 This indeed is an unjust division! 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Or shall man have what he coveteth? 24 So (know that) Allah only is the Owner of all – the Hereafter and this world. 25
