The Stars (Al-Najm)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the star when it descends, 1 Your companion hath not gone astray, nor hath he erred. 2 He does not speak out of his own desires. 3 It is naught but revelation that is revealed, 4 something that a very mighty one has imparted to him: 5 The Lord of Strength; so he attained completion, 6 And reached the highest pinnacle. 7 Then he drew near and hung above suspended, 8 Till he was two bows length off or yet nearer. 9 so (Allah) revealed to His worshiper (Gabriel) that which he revealed (to Prophet Muhammad). 10 His heart added no untruth to what he saw. 11 What! do you then dispute with him as to what he saw? 12 Indeed he saw him a second time, 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 Nigh unto which is the Garden of Abode. 15 (This was) when the lote-tree was covered with that which covered it. 16 The sight turned not aside, nor it exceeded. 17 Indeed he (Muhammad SAW) did see, of the Greatest Signs, of his Lord (Allah). 18 Have you then considered the Lat and the Uzza, 19 And Manat the other third? 20 Is the male for you and for Him the female? 21 This is certainly an unjust apportioning. 22 They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fathers, for which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that which (they) themselves desire. And now the guidance from their Lord hath come unto them. 23 Or shall man have whatever he fancies? 24 But to Allah belongs the last (Hereafter) and the first (the world). 25
