The Stars (Al-Najm)
62 verses, revealed in Mecca after Absoluteness (Al-Ikhlaas) before He Frowned ('Abasa)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
By oath of the beloved shining star Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him), when he returned from the Ascent. 1 Your companion did not err, nor did he go astray. 2 And he does not say anything by his own desire. 3 This is only revelation communicated, 4 taught by One who is Stern in power. 5 one endowed with immense wisdom. He came forth and stood poised, 6 While he [Jibrael (Gabriel)] was in the highest part of the horizon, 7 He (Gabriel) then came nearer and nearer. 8 And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer. 9 And He revealed unto His slave that which He revealed. 10 The (Prophet's) (mind and) heart in no way falsified that which he saw. 11 will you, then, contend with him as to what he saw? 12 And he certainly saw him in another descent 13 to the Lot-tree (in the seven heavens) 14 Near which is the garden, the place to be resorted to. 15 when the lote tree was covered in mystic splendour. 16 His eye did not waver, nor did it stray, 17 Indeed, he saw one of the greatest signs of his Lord. 18 Have ye seen Lat. and 'Uzza, 19 as well as [in] Manat, the third and last [of this triad]? 20 Do sons belong to you and daughters to God? 21 That indeed is an unfair division -- 22 These are nothing but names which ye have devised,- ye and your fathers,- for which Allah has sent down no authority (whatever). They follow nothing but conjecture and what their own souls desire!- Even though there has already come to them Guidance from their Lord! 23 Is the human to have whatever he fancies? 24 despite the fact that [both] the life to come and this present [one] belong to God [alone]? 25

Notes and Instructions
When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
